There is no biblical standard supporting the nutrition program in the Lose it for Life® approach. Most of the secular programs endorsed by Lose it for Life® teach calorie cutting as one of their primary principles, which slows the metabolism. Scientifically, we must understand that under eating decreases the metabolism; overeating increases body fat. Under eating is encouraged by most fat loss programs. Overeating is most often caused by one of three reasons: damage to the hypothalamus, comfort or pleasure eating, and addiction. In order for a fat loss program to be effective these issues must be addressed.
